Garage Door Cable Repair
Frayed, slack, or snapped lift cables replaced and the door reset on its drums.
About this service
Alley salt and lake humidity corrode lift cables quickly, and a cable that lets go drops one side of the door and wedges it in the track. We replace both cables with galvanized or stainless stock, seat them correctly on the drums, and reset the spring tension so the door lifts evenly from the slab. If the cable failed because a bottom bracket rusted through, that bracket is replaced at the same appointment rather than left for the next winter.
What's included
- Galvanized or stainless replacement cables
- Both cables changed so the door lifts evenly
- Drums and bottom brackets inspected for rust
- Spring tension reset after the cables are seated
- Door run through its full travel before the technician leaves
